Why I hope the Minnesota Vikings lose every game this season.

vikings.jpgNow let me start out by stating that I was born in St. Paul, MN and have been a life-long Vikings fan. I’ve stuck with them through thick and thin, but now I’ve come to the realization that their current coach and quarterback are driving the organization into the ground.

I too like many others was excited about the new direction the team was taking. A new owner, coach and a lot of new personel, but after actually watching this now pathetic organization I can’t help but hope we just continue to lose because I now believe that will be the only way anyone will actually make a change.

I’ve always thought Brad Johnson was a mediocre quarterback at best. I thought this when he was previously with the Vikings, when he was with the Tampa Bay Bucs (even though he won a Super Bowl ring) and now that he’s back with the Vikes. I’ve always said that “having Brad Johnson as your quarterback is like having Vinnie Testaverde… you’re simply accepting mediocrety.”

Now don’t get me wrong it’s not all Brad Johnson’s fault, but he has shown that he can single handedly lose a game for us.

The Vikings simply don’t have any real weapons besides their run defense and the occasional long run by Chester Taylor. We can be damn sure that Brad Johnson isn’t going have any long passes. I mean he’ll throw the same bullshit 3 yard dump pass on 3rd and 9 and get a few yards and then throw a 40 yard bomb for an interception on 4th and 1 with the game on the line. This also goes back to the shitty coaching staff we have. I’ve never seen a more conservative coaching staff and mind you I went through the entire Dennis Green era.

Also we have no real offensive threats. As much as I hated Randy Moss for his ego and attitude at least we had a real threat always on the field. I mean the team had a real swagger cause we knew we had the baddest Mother Fu**er in the league. Now we have really no one.

One change that should have been made a long time ago was the quarterback change and I can happily say I’m writing this during the 4th quarter and the Vikes have finally benched Johnson. Thank God!

What’s really wierd is that the Vikes have a great young, mobile quarterback in Tavaris Jackson, but apparently he’s been hurt and is just now practicing again. They just put in Brooks Bollinger (ex Wisconsin Badger) who isn’t anything special either, but at least he’s younger and a little more mobile. Maybe Brad Childress should have taken a page from Bill Parcell’s book and made the QB change a lot earlier. Hell, look at how that has worked out for the Cowboys.

All I can say is… if you’re not going to make any changes and simply accept losing each week knowing good and well that Brad Johnson isn’t going to win one game for you, then just let the public no that. Don’t try to BS us by saying what you’re working on for this weeks game. We all know if nothing changes that we’re simply going to lose. I mean look at how many offensive touchdowns we have this year. It’s pitiful!

Make some changes now or… I hope we lose every game until Childress and Johnson are gone.
