Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan, two of the world’s most popular and well known athletes will tee it up together for the first time in competition Wednesday in the Pro-Am at the Wachovia golf tournament.

While the two most well known athletes in the world have played golf together many times before, this will be the first time in competition.

Jordan, who has played in the pro-am at Bay Hill, but never in the same group as Tiger, will finally get his chance to go head to head on the course with arguably the greatest golfer of all time.

The two tee off Wednesday morning at 7:30 am from the first tee at Quail Hollow. Filling out the threesome will be Skipper Beck, president and CEO of Beck Imports of the Carolinas, who supplies the tournament with courtesy Mercedes-Benz cars.

While The Golf Channel usually only shows TV coverage of the actual pro tournament which takes place Thursday - Sunday, many golf fans and sports fans for that matter now are asking… will The Golf Channel decide to air special coverage of the pro-am? I sure hope so!

With Jordan and Woods now finally getting to play together in competition I can’t imagine how big the galleries will be for their group. I feel more sorry for Skipper Beck who will be playing along with two of the greatest athletes of all time. Tournament director Kym Hougham said, “These two gentlemen are two of the most well-known athletes in the world, and to have them both here for one day playing in the same group is a special treat”.

So I now pose the question… who would dominate head to head more in their respective sports? We all know MJ’s a pretty good golfer and although I’ve heard of a few one on one games on the basketball court between the two I’ve never seen Tiger play basketball. So would Jordan dominate Tiger more in basketball or would Tiger dominate Jordan more in golf?
