Here are some pics of my trip to Dachau Nazi Concentration Camp in Dachau, Germany in May, 2009. It’s just hard to imagine how cruel and evil people can actually be. I knew the history of the camp, but seeing it up close and personally is definitely a different experience. I can’t even begin to imagine the horror those people went through.
If you’re unfamiliar with the camp here’s a link to the Wikipedia page on the Dachau Concentration Camp.

My name is Bryan Hauer and I was born on January 11, 1976 in St. Paul, MN. Although my friends liked to kid me about it I am no relation as far as I know to the actor Rutger Hauer.
I grew up mostly in Minnesota and Wisconsin as I attended grade school in St. Paul, MN and junior high and high school in Racine, WI. After graduating high school I then went on to attend college in LaCrosse, WI.
Although I was born in Minnesota and lived there and Wisconsin most of my younger years, I've also lived in quite a few other states.

Hi Bryan:
Many thanks for the pictures you took while visiting Dachau. During WWII I was with Company “K”, 157 Regiment, 45th Infantry Division. I was a liberator of the camp 4/29/45. I will never forget the number of skeletons I saw and the terrible stench within the buildings. Looks like you and Ashley had an enjoyable trip.
I maintain a small military website and there is a Dachau link you may enjoy reading.
Hope you are back home and living a normal life.
Kindest regards,
Albert R. Panebianco

Hi Al,
Thanks for the comment and link. I’ll definitely check out your site and read up a bit more on Dachau. I had some knowledge, but going on the tour was definitely a huge learning experience.I couldn’t imagine how horrible it was when you guys got there and saw all of that.
Trip is going great! Still got a couple weeks left on it and each city keeps getting more fun.
Thanks again for stopping by and checking out the pics.
Bryan
