Watch the video above from 2002 and tell me if he’s the one who’s crazy.

While the GOP fights over Mitt or Newt and the media insists on going out of its way to ignore Ron Paul… One man has had the same consistent message year and year. Dr. Ron Paul.

Yep he doesn’t want to serve under lobbyists or the 1%. Instead he chooses to do what’s best for America. If the GOP really wanted to defeat Obama, they’d do everything in their power to make this man win the nomination. This coming from an Obama supporter in 2008.

He’s the only candidate besides Obama, most young voters would choose. Remember… If he doesn’t win the GOP nominations, he’ll most likely still run as an independent and will take a huge chunk of the vote.

Instead they’ll continue to bicker over Newt being a swinger, Mitt being rich and not showing his taxes… you know that shit everyone really cares about instead of actually telling us how they’ll get us out of these silly wars so we’re not spending through the roof and allowing our young men and women to be sacrificed for the sake of oil, construction contracts and power.

While Dr. Paul wants to end the days of lobbyists running this country and consistently bailing out the thieves on Wall St… the media and other so-called political analysts want to paint him as a crazy, old man.

You know why they all do that? Cause he scares the hell out of them. He’s not a puppet they can tell what to do and he’s not afraid to call out people for trying to screw the people.

Take a look at the video above and tell me this guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Take a look at his record and tell me this guy isn’t honest and continually doing what’s best for the people he represents.

I’m not saying I agree with every single one of his beliefs, but I can tell you one thing… he’s smart, honest, consistent and cares more about the average American than all the other candidates combined. He’s not in it for himself. His entire life’s work has been about helping the average American succeed while preserving our rights under the Constitution of the United States. Without him the GOP has no shot.

I’m still an Obama supporter vs Newt, Mitt or Rick, but would seriously consider Dr. Paul if he were to win the nomination. If the GOP really wants to defeat Obama they HAVE to elect Dr. Ron Paul.

Still think he’s crazy? Well, I’ll end with a video of a few other people who were labeled as crazy.

So if you live under a rock and haven’t heard about this yet… earlier today clothing designer Kenneth Cole tweeted about #Cairo, Egypt while promoting his line of clothes. Some thought it was funny, most thought it was insensitive and in poor taste. TechCrunch described it as “Setting a New Bar for Social Media Stupidity“.

While I’m sure Kenneth Cole was just trying to be funny since he does quite often mix politics and promotions… this might have been a little too early for something of this nature. Good thing that there are companies like www.reputation.com, that will help clean up our reputation, in case you have a similar accident like Kenneth Cole. Within minutes thousands were replying to him showing their disgust in mixing the tragedy going on in Egypt with a promotion to sell his clothing/shoes.

Here’s the tweet if you haven’t seen it…

Millions are in uproar in #Cairo. Rumor is they heard our new spring collection is now available online at http://bit.ly/KCairo – KC

While some think it’s not a big deal and that people and the media are overreacting the problem I and many others have is he’s using a world tragedy for an attempt at business gain and exploiting the people in Egypt that are going through this. This is evident by his use of the hashtag #Cairo. It probably would have been viewed in bad taste anyways, but that put it over the top.

Kenneth Cole has responded twice now to the outrage first on his Twitter account shortly after his original tweet. It says…

Re Egypt tweet: we weren’t intending to make light of a serious situation. We understand the sensitivity of this historic moment -KC

I have removed this morning’s tweet. Please visit this link to see my apology. http://on.fb.me/fCSf5Z -KC

He then responded on Facebook with an apology which reads…

I apologize to everyone who was offended by my insensitive tweet about the situation in Egypt. I’ve dedicated my life to raising awareness about serious social issues, and in hindsight my attempt at humor regarding a nation liberating themselves against oppression was poorly timed and absolutely inappropriate.

Kenneth Cole, Chairman and Chief Creative Officer

Probably the biggest news that came out of all of this is the creation of a parody Twitter account called @KennethColePR.

In less than 4 hours it went from 0 – over 4000 followers which should soon pass the real Kenneth Cole Twitter account in followers and was created to poke fun at Mr. Cole for such a ridiculous tweet in the first place. There’s probably about 20 or so updates many of which people are having a good laugh at. Some have definitely crossed the line too, but I’d imagine it’s by a comedian trying to show how stupid Mr. Cole was in his original tweet.

Here’s a sample of recent Tweets from that account.

So what do you think? Are people overreacting or is the backlash justified? I personally think he crossed the line when he added the #Cairo hashtag which many are using along with the #Egypt hastag to follow along with journalists and loved ones in the area. It’s not the end of the world, but you’d expect better judgement from someone running a major company.

What an incredible day in history we had today in the United States of America. While some may not agree with President Barack Obama’s political views, one can’t help but notice his ability to inspire masses of people and the way he gets people excited about making their own lives better though hard work and volunteering.

There’s obviously a lot of hard work ahead, but I’m clearly optimistic that President Obama can get the job done. Here are some reasons why I think Barack Obama makes a great Commander and Chief.

- He wants the best out of us: He clearly has made it a point to say he can’t do this alone and that we all should do our part to help make the US a better place in this world. The difference between past Presidents and Barack is that he’s already organizing and doing something to make this happen through volunteering.

- He’s organized, focused and determined: He’s already held numerous briefings with the public/press weekly since being elected, met with local and world leaders and already had his team working on many projects so that they’re ready come the morning of Wednesday, January 21, 2009.

- He’s a visionary and ideas guy: He might not have all the answers immediately or have already laid out every plan in detail, but he’s definitely already hard at work with his staff on how best to solve the issues at hand.

- He’s smart, fairly young and well spoken: He’s taken speech writing to another level. His youthfulness and playful attitude has definitely hit a chord with Americans young and old and has for the first time in my life created a connection between the average person and the most powerful person in the world. He’s also quite polished and calm for a man who’s only 47 years old which is a key trait for someone running one of the most envied and hated countries in the world.

- He’s athletic: While being young and athletic doesn’t necessarily qualify as being a Presidential trait, I do think that the average person can relate to his love for sports (basketball in particular) and his energetic youthfulness. I’ve heard him quote ESPN Sports Center many, many times.

- He embraces technology: This is probably my favorite trait of the new President. Barack used technology to not only win the election, but is now using it to spread his message to more people in more places. He used Twitter, Facebook and MySpace among others during the election and also has plans to use technology to further advance our health care system, education system and also to hopefully rid our dependence on foreign oil.

So those are my reason… What are yours? Leave a text or video comment below and tell me why you think or maybe don’t think Barack Obama will be a successful President of the United States of America.

I also decided for fun to post the video of Beyonce serenading President Obama and his wife Michelle for the first dance at the Neighborhood Ball inauguration party simply because it was so good, plus it’s always nice to see two people so in love and excited about the future.
