Remembering Steve Jobs One Year Later

It was one year ago today that I heard the terrible news of Steve Jobs death. Ironically I had just left the Apple store in Huntsville, AL to grab a bumper case for my iPhone 4.

As an unashamed Apple fanboy I received numerous calls, texts and Facebook posts from friends that night all wondering if I had heard the news.

While I never met him personally I couldn’t help but feel what millions of others felt that night… like we had lost a friend or at least that we recognized we had lost someone great.

I think President Obama summed it up best when he said…

The world has lost a visionary. And there may be no greater tribute to Steve’s success than the fact that much of the world learned of his passing on a device he invented. – President Barack Obama

To honor Steve today on the one year anniversary of his death, Apple changed its homepage to nothing but a single video with black and white images and Steve’s voice. You can check out the video here.
