Embedded above is a cool behind the scenes short documentary that shows a look at the making of Apple’s new holiday commercial. The granddaughter is shown as being a musician who easily uses Apple’s Garage Band and other music recording and editing software that’s comes standard for free with new iPhones, iPads and Macs.
The ad shows a “Voice-O-Graph” recording booth from the 1940s now housed at a company here in Nashville where I live called Third Man Records that lets people record their own voice to a record, complete with a stamped envelope for mailing the recording as an audio postcard. At that time many people hadn’t ever heard their voice so one of the main selling points was… “Hear yourself as others hear you.”
