2013 ESPN SportsCenter Make-A-Wish Stories (Video)

Every year for the last seven years ESPN SportsCenter along with the Make-A-Wish Foundation grant wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions. ESPN then airs them on SportCenter for a week each year. If you’re not familiar with them (which would be hard to believe) here’s what Make-A-Wish is all about.

Make-A-Wish® grants the wish of a child diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition in the United States and its territories, on average, every 38 minutes. We believe that a wish experience can be a game-changer. This one belief guides us. It inspires us to grant wishes that change the lives of the kids we serve.

These stories are so inspiring and probably my favorite part of SportsCenter each year. While ESPN has picked to cover a handful of wishes that were granted involving sports icons, you can watch plenty more at the Make-A-Wish website involving hundreds of other kids. [Continue reading]
